Better late than never! We had such a wonderful time at the Blue Ridge Fiber Festival! The show staff was extremely hospitable, the other vendors were so friendly, and for it being their very first year, the crowds were great! It was so well organized and we wanted to thank them for allowing us to be a part of their successful weekend! If you missed out this year, its definitely one to plan for next year! Matt and I were greeted by so many smiling faces, met a lot of people... Some who we have been processing for and now have faces to put to the name, and we were more than kissed by the southern sun as the weather was beautiful! Thanks for everyone who stopped by our booth, dropped off fiber, or engaged in friendly conversation!

Good evening to all our wonderful followers!!
Check out this awesome little story and photos from one of our club members....
I thought the wool is snipped from the sheep, spun into yarn then you knit your shawl. Was I wrong! I was graciously given a guided tour of the wool factory at Blue Mountain Farm & Fiber Mill by Angie,Tyler and Ashley. Madi who is the fourth member of the operation was away on sales.
Fifteen or more labor intense steps are involved in prepping the wool to create a shawl. I won't attempt to give any details but will say follow them on Facebook and make time for their next open house. By the way these folks are the same people who bring the 4H food vendor to the Green Acres Farm Heritage Days! Can't wait for their ice cream!
We are so excited to head down to Sparta, NC this weekend for the Blue Ridge Fiber Festival!! If you're in the area, stop by and support this festival! Those who have organized this event have put a lot of time and effort into making this an enjoyable show for everyone!
Everyone... Meet Nova! Thank you all for such wonderful name suggestions! We went from not sure what to name her to not sure which awesome name suggestion would fit her the best! Thank you Linda for suggesting this name! #lamb #leicesterlongwool #namegame #bluemountainfarms #babynova #thenamefits #farmlife #endoflambingseason
Along with the glory of raising animals also comes the dirty work! Today we are spending our time pressure washing, torching, and scrubbing our rabbitry completely! Its something we so twice a year in addition to our regular cleanings all throughout the year! #angorarabbits #farmlife #farmchores #bluemountainfarms #weloveourrabbits #barncleaning #shawsfuzzyfriends
🐑🐑So excited to introduce the newest little lamb at Blue Mountain! HELP US NAME OUR NEWEST ADDITION!❤❤ This sweet little girl was born Monday night, and after a little bit of a rocky start, both she and mama Flo are doing great now! We joked about naming her insomnia based on the lack of sleep we've had doing night checks before/after she was born and since she decided to set foot into the world at midnight Monday night! She has a good set of lungs on her and lots of personality! Suggestions anyone!?
With hay season fast approaching... Tyler is in one of his favorite "offices" doing a few repairs and routine maintenance! #bluemountain #hayseason #farmlife
